Nuwan was invited to direct the music for a Tamil short drama titled Oru Urula. He made this project an extension of his Papara improvisation research. The score was structured yet flexible, relying heavily on improvisation. Oru Urula won Best Music at the 50th State Drama Festival and again at the 43rd National Youth Drama Festival in the Tamil Short Drama category. These awards validated Papara’s relevance in contemporary theatre and highlighted its ability to move audiences across cultural and linguistic boundaries.
