Building on these experiments, Nuwan explored a new fusion project: Papara Jazz. This research brought together Papara with jazz harmonies, rhythms, and improvisational practices. His aim was not only to expand Papara’s stylistic vocabulary but also to explore modern recording methods that could better capture the vibrant energy of live Papara performances.
Through collaboration with leading Sri Lankan musicians and sound engineers, this project sought to set new standards for Papara recording and genre fusion. The outcome was a genre-blending experiment that respected the roots of Papara while placing it in a dialogue with global musical traditions. More info: https://paparajazz.blogspot.com/
